Three colorful, expressionistic females in swimsuits are stacked up like a totem pole of the Native peoples for the Pacific Northwest. Their meanings mirror those of these sculptures, presenting a range of complex and symbolic mythologies. My years spent on Southern California beaches inspired me to create these free-standing sculptures of sunbathers, made from acrylic paint on carved poplar wood.
